About our group, and the fighters.
A fight show doesn't need Hollywood.
When we began seeing our first fight shows at festivals and events we saw a lot of the same. We saw a lot of choreographed fights in flashy outfits, we saw armored combatants punch each other while holding swords but not using them.
The thought then was ... what if we could make it more "real"?
We train in Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) with a wide variety of steel weapons. We wear a few modern protection for our face and joints, but otherwise only wear padded cloth jackets, gambesons.
We all want to win, and the hits contact full force. We really do feel them. Our Fighters protection also allowed the use full force thrusts which are very rare in most fight shows. It's especially exemplified with our signature 8' steel spears.
Don't mistake our competitiveness for a lack of "stage" presence. We love interacting with crowds and hearing cheers and reactions to hits. Nothing makes us happier than putting on a fantastic show. It really makes the bruises worth it.
